What is mobile dictation ?
For those who are regularly away from the office, a digital recorder can be used to capture speech. This is then transfered to a computer either by cable or by email as an attached file.
Cameo-IT recommends and supports the Olympus DS-3000 and DS-330 both of which have excellent sound quality, features, and ease-of-use making them ideal choices for anyone who wants to dictate while away from their computer.
Olympus DS-3000
The DS-3000 includes three folders for voice file management, capable of storing up to 199 messages per folder, all of which can be moved from one folder to another for easy organization. Additionally, the DS-3000 provides DSS Player Pro Dictation Software that automates dictation workflow over a network or e-mail for further file management.
Olympus DS-330
The DS-330 combines impressive digital voice processing with a compact and ergonomic design. To take full advantage of PC connectivity, it comes with a USB docking station for fast and straightforward transfer of files to either PC or Macintosh. Equipped with a 16 MB built-in flash memory, the user enjoys a maximum recording time of 330 minutes. Also, the organisation of files is no problem with five separate folders available, each capable of containing up to 199 files. The integrated back-lit LCD display ensures that note-taking is possible even under the low-light conditions of presentation halls and lecture theatres.
