The core product for Speech Recognition is Dragon Naturally Speaking which can be purchased in a number of variants namely, Professional or Preferred and also in a mobile or wireless version. For particular professions specific vocabularies can be obtained thus providing targeted lexicons for various specialties. Medical and legal vocabularies are popular and many other professions are available.

Training is most important as this is a powerful business tool, with some subtlety included, and with our experience we are able to bring you up to speed as quickly as possible in a manner far more interesting trying to read a manual. Bearing in mind research has shown that the average typist can type at about 35 words per minute this makes an almost 4 times increase in speed, with the time taken for corrections being very small, an obvious productivity bonus can be seen and the investment will be recouped very quickly. Secretaries can still be a vital component in that once a file has been dictated it can be passed to the secretary for checking, "top and tailing" and completing the process.

For those who are away from their desk or who are not inclined to use the speech recognition software Digital Dictation allows you to dictate text and then pass the file to the secretary for transcription. At this point the secretary can type up the audio file received with special tools or, more interestingly, can put the file through the speech recognition system to have a core file for which they then only need to "top and tail" and complete as necessary.
